"My series, The Lives of Others, shows the other face of the characters on Facebook: their inner lives, their moments of “real reality,” what they really are outside this network, the faces that we do not see; in short, what has been left out. (...) I also question the nature of the human relationships on the Internet’s social networks: How would we react and behave if we were to find ourselves face to face with unanticipated “imperfect” people from our own Facebook network? In an unexpected encounter with someone outside our “social cluster,” what would be the criteria for our acceptance or rejection? What attitudes would we adopt toward their complex humanity and reality?"
